Live
Live, since 2012 is the first work that puts a static, two-dimensional picture into a state of malleability by the use of ferrofluid material with magnetic properties. The oily emulsion perpetually changes its appearance on the surface; the material shapes itself. In the film recording of the movement, the vividness and autonomy of the materiality visually asserts itself. Due to the artistic appropriation of a substance that is otherwise used in physics, biology or medicine, this work raises the question concerning the relations, interconnections and possibilities for interaction between art and scientific experiment.
